On a bright , sunny day in northwest Oregon, the northwest's best came out to do what they do on any Sunday. The 125cc Pro class roared off the line for the first moto and Dave Diedier found him self in the lead . Didier , riding for MX Plus , ,was able . to hold it for only two laps before' he was overtaken by a determined David Van Epps (Suz) riding for Freds Cycle City. Didie r lat er pull ed out of th e action with mechanical problems. He was unable to start the second moto. Van Epps held his lead to the end for the win , Jimmy Anderson. Longview Suzuki , saw his tedious work all ahead of him. He was running close to last by first lap's end but was able to work his way up to third by the end of the first moto. Kevin Jansen . Kawasaki Motors U.S,A. , motored a good moto to take fourth while Jeff Cropper. Gresham Suzuki, pulled off a pass on the last lap to go around Jansen for second in the first moto. The second 125cc Pro moto was a different story ; jimmy Anderson blasted off the line to go in front to stay , He railed the second moto to the wire for a 3·1 day and second overall . Dave Van Epps turned a second place second moto int o the overall after a 1· 2 day , Jeff Cropper was good enough for th ird with a 3·5 day. The 250cc Pros are beginning to be the legend class in motocross for this area. Turning out for the glory were Rick Burgett, Yamaha U.S .A .. Mark Gregson LOP, and T'im iMichletsch .
