Shields said later, " I didn't th ink the cramp in my leg wou ld ever go away . When Vanskie got alongside me in tum one 1 guess 1 forgot about the cramp." Just after the mark, Schwartz tried to take the Yamaha inside the last tum and lost it . leaving the glory to Collins. Schwa rtz said after the race , "That 's the bad thing about the big singles.
