_ . _. _ . _ . _ ~ . _ . _ . _ . Elliott pulled the holeshot in the second moto followed by Gomez , Jones and Karsmakers . Gomez really put the pressure on Elliott , trying to pass at every turn and nearly pulling alongside on the straights. Elliott, looking poised and smooth held him off until Gomez began to tire and fell off the pace. Elliott managed to open up a slight lead as first Jones and then Karsmakers passed the slowing Gomez . With the moto almost over Elliott looked like the sure winner until he suddenly fell going into score tower turn , a victim of a loose front brake adjuster. Elliott lost four positions remounting and despite a determined effort was un a b le to catch the leaders before the mote's end. Jones successfully held off a late cha rge by Karsmakers to reach the checkers first. It was Karsmakers however who claimed the overall victory with a 1-2 score as Jones had to settle for second and 'Gomez took.home the third place money. Maico rider David Williams looked very impressive as he won both Open Pro races with good sized leads . Scott Cavness kept the race close early in the first moto before his Suzuki developed mechanical problems dropping him to third behind Ammex rider Gary Jones. Jones was the only rider who seemed capable of staying with Williams in the second moro as Cavness DNF and Yamaha rider Terry Clark suffered a bad start . Williams of course took home the top money. with the runnerup spot going to Jones . and Clark finished third overall. Suzuki -mounted Ed Arnet put on a tremendous late moto change to win the second 125cc Pro race and clinch the overall victory . Bob Kline rode his Honda to second overall with a first moto win and a third in the second race. Yamaha rider Gregg Toyama rounded out the top three by finishing with a 3·2 score.
