He led the first lap and every . lap afterwards leaving Jonnson, Bra nd and Doug Heil (Suz) to squabble over second place. At the checkered flag the order was set at Ellis, Jonnson , Heil , Gormley and Bill Pelto (Yam). The overall standings were identical. Danny Bu rtt of Redlands Suzuki had little trouble in the 125cc Pro race, taking both moros . In the first moto, it was San Bernardino's Winner's Circle rider John Silva (Suz) who got the jump. Silva's luck , however, couldn't keep up with his pace and he broke his shifter on the fifth la p , forcing him out for the day. From there on in, it was all Burtt's. Andy Orescanin (Suz) held secondIn the remaining laps while Ken Odra (Yam) battled with Joey McMa nus . (Suz) to take third . . Round two saw Orescanin hold off Burtt fo'r two laps before giving in. Burtt then disappeared with the lead , leaving Orescanin to be content with second once again. McManus came out on top of Od ra this time and claimed third in the final standings. On the sportsman side of the fence it was Scott Haydis (Kaw) who grabbed the spotlight. Haydis didn't just win the 250cc Novice class, he smoked 'em . His nearest competition was Tony Camarena (Suz) who took second in both rounds ahead of Rusty Hannah (Suz), Dale Ream (Hon) and Mark Branch . The 250cc Intermediates were.taken by Robert Robertson (Suz) on his very first ride in th e class. He was followed by Jon Whitcomb (Suz) and Dan Cannon (Suz). Results PEE WEE: 1.
