"Sue-ha ppy" racers raise costs
I think we have such high insurance
rates because of sue- happy people.
And this doesn't only apply to
motorcyclists. If little Tommy goes out
to the local track and falls down.
mommy and daddy sue because of
unsafe track conditions. If little
Tommy skis, goes off the trail and hits
a rock, mommy and daddy sue
because the rock wasn't marked with a
100 ,OOO·voIt light. If little Tommy
jogs along a sidewalk, steps in a hole
and breaks an ankle, mommy and
daddz sue the city .
And they win these suits!
How can a judge in his right mind
grant these people anything but an
insanity hearing? That totally blows
me away! Nobody, let alone the people
being sued, is forcing these people to
participate, We race, ski and jog at
our own risk .
.
That's like going to an ~.rated
movie , going home and domg my
thing, and then filing a lawsu it against
the theatre for corrupting mel Sounds
stupid , right? But it's no more stupid
than a racer suing the track because he
was clumsy enough to get hun.
. One way we can cut down the high
cost of racing is to reduce or eliminate
some of the promoters' expenses. And
insurance seems to be the main one.
How about it , people? Bob Hayes?
Legal Defense Fund? Can we do
something about this?
