severe back injuries as a result. The

the National .Motorcycle Patrol was
m atched by Kim 's courage du ring the
ordeal.
Edl March in i went on to fin ish the
race for a win with Dean Joyner and
Dan Scharf grabbing a handful of
poin ts ahead of Barry Anderson and
Brian Veerkamp.
The Timberwolves wisely re-routed
the course in the vicinity of the ' bog,
which was fast becoming a bike
' swa llowing ' sw amp , lined wi th
spectators who either cheered on the
courageous, or booed a ny unsports manlike cond uct of a frustrated rid er.

position. Jay Tuller,' last year's winner

Smooth Buzz Preiser went on to
capture second with the fifth rated
rider in D -36 , ' hard charging ' Jeff
Shurt z, tak ing third ahead of his rival,
Yello w Plate number six , Scott Aus tin .
Mike Markinkovich was fifth ahead of
Phil Rice, for whom they may hav e
named this race after. Scott Sinclair
got the nod over "W rong Way" Eddie
