The Novice winner was Bob Statts, Tom Schell, Sr., Virgil French and Bud Campbell followed . Bob Higgins won the Beginners. George Purser and Rex Foushee were the Novice C bike winners , Clint Daniel won the Beginner race. George Zuber took the Expert 250cc race again acing out #085 and Francis C h r is te nsen . Pete Kapko , Fred Hawkins and Pat Gunther took the Am ateur class. Bob McCurnin was the Novice winner. T he O pe n bikes were back and guess who won? A repea t performance of yesterday. Balentine and Timms again . Ed Za rp on a "H a rley?," Bill Sa lt zm a n , Max Eddy and Morris Norman tra iled . Eric MacCracken was thi rd overall and first Amateur . Second went to your new Heavyweight steward Bib Bu d Wheeler, Beverl y Hughes, Lo u Monterone and J eff Fraser followed . Nu mber 829 won the Novice race, John C line, R ich Ziegler, W a yne Poo re and Bla ir Swallo w filed in. Number 823 a nd Rich Hansing took the Beginner race. . O h , I forgot the ladies. Lori Farmer rode a superb race coming from behind to pass AI Baker-sponsored Kelly Kline for the overall win . Lynette Zuber won the 250cc class, Linda "Quick Shift" Shatka won second Amateur behind Lori Farmer. Jolene "Feel No" Payne took the Novice win ahead of Toni Van Knapp . Sheila Hopkins really blasted around the course making up for a bad start. Taking the C bike Expert win she passed the Elias sisters , June and Diana . Kelly Kline won the Amateur C class over a fast moving Debbie Hopkins. Nancy Caselli beat Jeanette Lang and Dahlene "End u ro" Dorman for the Novice win . Deanna Jenkins took the Beginner honors again, winning out over #86 and Sandy Love. The 250cc resul ts may be somewhat diffe rent than what the story says but my policy is to write it as it happened that day. Any problem with the sports committee will be settled there. Bruce Ogilvie sai led around the course in a furious pace. Chuck Miller was second, Rich Zajic took advantage of the pinched front brake cable on Kern Park's Husky and bagged the Amateur win. Don Ebberts was third behind Park then Brian Wright, Robin Busse, John Pra ter and Tom "Roadrunner" Schell. . Greg Johnston won the Novice race acing out Steve Brookshire, J oe Zuidema, Gary Coving ton , Tony Megla and Jim Draves. The C bikes lined up and when the checkered fell, John Foster did it again . Joe Wilson took second, then Gary Hengeveld, Bob Torgerson, Dennis Scammell and Bill Larson followed . Paul Krause made his dad happy taking first Amateur. Mitch Smiley, Ray Guilbeau , Dave Hornbeck and Tom Prudy followed. . The last race had the Trailbikes. Kevin Hopkins and Joe Lockhart went a t it again, this time Lockhart DNF and Hopkins breezed in for the win . O ren Beck, Jr., probably the most improved Trailbike rider this year , to ok the Amateur win along with second overall . Dennis Marchand, Pete Andleman, Art Guz man finished. Bill Mattox, a beginner, won the Novice race .. Chris McDonald took second , first Novice. Number P57 , Mike McDowell, Ron Nelson and Frank Chase finished .
