In the Intermediate classes , the
outstanding rider once again was
Suzuk!.moumed Kenny Dunlap who
has rrsen to the same position of

he had earlier in the year as a Novice.
Looking at the current crop of
• Intermediates g ives one the feeling
that the future of minicycle racing is
definitely a healthy one, what with
riders such as Ray Tetherton , C h ris
Lance , Taylor Marcell , Billy Evans
and Danny Almond just to name a few

12-16 -year -o ld I nte r m ed iates over
Ka wasak i rid er Taylor Marcell in th e
Modifieds and Ron nie Eversole in the
Stocks . The race was fo r seco nd in

providing the competition and bot h
thirds .
As they have been a ll yea r , the
Motorcycle classes were large and
extremely competitive . The biggie of
the day had to be the 125cc
Intermediate class where Ken Warne
scored his biggest win of the year in
defeating Robbie Nolin and a
returning Curt McCuistion. Warne;
who voluntarily moved himself up
f~om the Novices a race ago , beat out
favorite Scott Hamilton in the first
~oto and hail to wage an uphill battle
in the second moto for a third at the
flag behind Nolin and Jeff Nuss as
Hamilton endoed and finished 12th,
Well , this competes our season at
Barona Oaks Raceway, and speaking
for all the officials of the Ca lifornia
Mini Motorcycle Club ; a sincere
thanks to all of you really g reat riders who ran with us this year , and we. will
be looking forward to seeing you all
next year. The 1978 CMMC Awards
~ Banquet will be held on Saturda y
night , Jan . 13 , 1979 , and the 1979
season should ' be getting underway in
