Suzuki mounted Fred Alarid displayed his talents by taking the overall win in th e 125cc Novice class , despite the efforts of a hard-charging Ed Despain who ran awa y with the second moto honors to fini sh second overall. Sunday's racing was highlighted by about 75 Experts going for $1250 and d ouble points toward their earned numbers . KS, OCT. 21 eR r' £ Norton's final race for '78 ended on a happy note for 250cc Junior Kevin Waggoner after he hetd ' off a strong challenge from Husqvama mounted Gary Yager to win both of his motos. Yager was leading th e first moto when Waggoner stole it away after three laps but moto two was Waggoner's all the way . with convinci ng wire to wire win. Doug Heller had Larry Weaver hounding his rear fender all day. but held on for th third place slot . A much im proved Dennis (Kraco Kracht grabbed th e number one spot as a strong 125cc Junior field left the .sta rt line. but he had plenty of close . company in the way of AIIen Muirhead and Jon Ungerer who were l holding positions two and three. On , lap two . Muirhead made his move, and bounced by on the whoops to capture' th e lead ; Ungerer moved into second on the next lap.
