Our "inadeq ua te" water truck con sisted of a 8 ,000 gallon tanker pulled by a $50 ,000 Kenwonh tractor , 10 full -time construction work ers with two high pressure pumps and spray nozzles which watered all day Friday , Friday night and Saturday night. Sunday a 2 ,500 gallon truc k and five men worked all day to keep the dust down , whi ch was created by high winds, hot sunshine and six weeks of no rain. The dust was not " ter ri ble" and visa bili ty was not a problem . 5. The AMA's "poo r representation" at the even t co nsisted of Referee Fred Ephram , on e of the best ; Kathy Wanta , AMA Director of Member Act ivit ies; and Hugh Fleming , AMA Amateur Mo tocross Manager. They all d id an outst anding job. Last but n ot least . W e bought 100 extra wall plaques and ga" e o ne to every rider that d id not tro phy. We are tru ly so rry when any rider is inj u red and co ncern ed when someo ne goes away un ha p py.
