Honda four strokes the Cowbell rtationaI Enduro.
They're at it again! Two
weeks after their 1-2-3 sweep
of the Cal State National Enduro,
Team Honda and their incredible
four-stroke XR enduro bikes once
again dominated. This week it
was the Cowbell National Enduro
on Mt. Baker, outside of
. Bellingham, Washington.
Don Sanford took the
overall win aboard his modified
Honda XR500 while teammate .
Rick Munyon ran off with 250A
class honors on his modified
.XR250. That makes two events
.in a row for the Team Honda
four-strokers, one in the blistering desert and this time up near
the timberline. And twice in 15
days they 've left the defending
national champion in their wake.
It was cold and wet as the
riders made their early morning
start. Almost immediately they
found themselves in a forest so
thick that they needed their
headlights to help light the trail.
But that didn't slow down Team
Honda. Their sweet-sounding
XR's snaked through the demanding, tight forest sections. Flew
down fireroads and logging
trails. Blasted over slippery
rock-infested uphills. And
danced cleanly to the bottom
of log-strewn downhills. And
when it was all over, they were
on top once more. .
