The support race gave some locals
and friends of Amateur finalists a
chance to show their stuff. Joe Carrell
ran away with the first rnoto from the
stan, as Mark Murphy quickly dis placed David W iegirs for second.
Distances between them stretched un' til the end of the moto.
In the second moto, it was Doug
Jackson's turn to dominate as he led
for the distance with Carrell never get,
ting closer than sixth. Ben Bishop
.moved by Tommy Watts to hold a
distant second place. Watts dropped
out near the end . allowing Scott Hall
and Mark Murphy into third and
fourth . .
Mark Barnell presented the top
threesome with new Suzukis andhuge
silver trophies which were donated by
Toyota. The top six in each class also
received commemorative j ackets from
Toyota , and all participants received
finalist plaques from promoter Bill
West .
