"Shaggin' Shau n" Kelly and Jerry Surber wrung t hei r we ll -tuned m achines ou t to top the 250cc and 125cc Expert competition. Kelly had his toughest battle with old foe Glen Johnson . . Promoter Red Walling was everywhere at once as usu al, starting the events , announcing them, holding 'court at riders' meetings, grading th e . track, and ' handing out the cash and trophies too! Although the entries were below normal for the event, the ra cing a ction was lo p p ed only b y the beautiful crisp fa ll weather. Changes made to the track du ring the week included some nifty downhill off-camber drops that kept the rid ers on their toes. The well-rnaintained track is in a park- like setting of natural terrain with such added attractions as an Olympic-sized swimming pool, huge game room , showers , permanent restrooms and a large conession building with lots of good seats for the convenience of riders and spectators. The best lit night motocross track in the country is on the same property with full track visibility and comfortable bleachers open for racing on every Friday night. Results MINI 5Occ: 1.
