The 125cc Junior class was up next . with 17 making up the field. Craig Lamb blasted into the first comer in front with Virus Meier, Dick DeWester, and Danny Heller in tow. Lamb held off Meier for two laps, then it was Meier in front , then it was Lamb , then Meier', then DeWester, finally at the flag it was Meier first , DeWester second, and Lamb third. The second moto had Jerry McKay leading for the first two comers until Lamb , Meier, and DeWester worked.a triple pass . Lamb soon lost the lead to Meier, who surrendered it back to Lamb the next lap. Then it was Vitus taking the top spot for 'kee ps, with Lamb second, and DeWester third. The I25cc Pro class was next on the program with five riders ready for action. J.D. Sanderson seemed to have the track wired, and easily rolled his Suzuki to a first moto win. Mark Budke ran second and Mark Walker finished third. J.D . was just as hot in moto two, grabbing an unbelievable lead. until his chain decided to jump off the sprocket. Budke took over from that point. and turned J.D.'s bad luck into an overall victory. Je(f Richardson charged back from a fourth place .first moto finish to cop second overall, 4-2 . Phillip Weintz was the 250cc Junior king with a two moto sweep. Phil even lost the seat off his bike in heat one, but refused to slow down or look back. Lynn Wright placed second, with Doug Heller third. Richie Dozbaba ran fourth after he broke five spokes and lost his chain on a jump. Troy Rhoten literally blew away the 250cc Pro class. Troy led both motos from start to finish , and even sandwiched a crash in there, Blaine Budke ran a distant second, while J.D. Sanderson played hide and seek with Bob Bums. J.D. bested Bob to take third overall. The Open .class must have watched the 100cc riders second moto start, as they hit tum one three deep . Ga ry Gibbs banged into first followed by Larry Chvatal. Jeff Richardson was in the hunt " nni ng third followed by ru Larry Blecha. Richardson got by Chvatal, who snapped the front axle on his Maico. Jeff wasn 't content with second and charged after Gibbs , netting the lead at the white flag . Gibbs, caught by surprise, couldn't respond quick enough as Richardson won moto one. Gibbs .held second. .Blecha third, and Chvatal, with a very wobbly front wheel, was fourth. Heat two saw Gibbs nab the lead and quickly cycle out of sight. Richardson was second; Blecha third, and Jerry Jones fourth. Overall it was Gibbs (2I), Richardson (1-2), and Blecha (33). Overall results _ MINI: 1. Jail Cushing; 2. Pat Wing: 3.
