It was super lose in the first moto and both 'aces seemed to be equally ' matched on Suzukis. As it turned out after a pass and go game, Peterson flew by the finish line first. Denton was well ahead of third-place Dan Westergaard . The game changed somewhat in the second moto go because Denton pulled an excellent start on the pack. Gary held the winner's spot and positioned himself there straight 10 the end of th e ot7>. Peterson trailed from , behind and was totally unable 10 catch Gary while Glenn Page was one man that advanced this moto and landed third. When Ascot official Rico handed out the dough, there was no question that Denton deserved the biggest portion of it. Peterson scored second ' place loot over Page, Westergaard and David Nakamura . used by the AME on Fridays and the upper one is strictly for the Mini flyers while the International is for the regular motocross program. Included in this is also three very good Junior, Intermediate and Expert Mini classes. Erik Kehoe (Yam) was the only Mini competitor this evening to win both motos and he performed this feat in the Expert class. Kehoe had to worry about one other rider and this was Pat McConnell who races here practically every week. McConnell was .mounted on a Scott's Yamaha and hung in th ere in second place in both races and ended up that way overall. . Murry's Cycle Accesso ries has been doing something right because many of the top riders have been winning with their support. Alan Root is on e of these riders and tonight he devoured the 500cc Intermediate class without 100 many problems. The Ventura resident rode a Maico and creamed everyone by taking the lead and win in both moto races. The closest man in desperate pursuit of Root was Jeff Nickler who edged out Rick Denney , Dan Peterson , Brian Schultz and Joe Brown. • Results MINI JR : 1. Chris La""'m ISul); 2.
