The Experts went off the line with the Amateurs , making the race doubly exciting. Rathole Rocky took the holeshot in the first moto but lost the lead in the first turn when he locked up and killed his engine, causing a traffic jam. Stubby Steve was the first out of the pack, taking the lead and running with it. Rathole Rocky was able to r~ ·start, but had to pick his way through traffic to catch up. Stubby Steve won it going awa y. In the second mota , first lap , the Gang's scorekeepers counted Stubby Steve fifth in line behind leader Rathole Rocky. Steve caught Rocky in the second lap and pressured him for four more. Steve got by Rocky in a close pass which caused Rocky to go off the cou rse and Steve to take the wm, The evenly -matched Amateurs (anyone of them could win depending on circumstances and luck) had GetOff Gary going to the front and winning th e first moto with Flaky Frank close on his rear wheel. In mota two it was Dinky Dennie first to the checkers and Get -Off Gary second being chased by Sycho Sig . (See what I mean by evenly matched?) GetOff Gary took the go ld with his 1-2 finish . Dinky Dennie went 4-1 for a seco nd place. Sycho Sig went 3-3 for a righteous third followed by Slim y Steve, Flaky Frank and Du Du Dan . The Intermediate class, almost always the largest at our meets, filled the starting gate. In rnoto one , Ba ng Bang Bobo was first into the turn and held the lead until CZ-mounted RunOver Ron, in his usual come-frombehind style, caught the Ba nger on the white flag lap and cleanly passed. slipping by inside a turn when '0 1 Bo' took the high side. Run -O ver Ron went on to win the overall with his 1·3 score. Flippin Fred took the holeshot in moto two and went wire-to -wire while being chased by Jack·KnifeJohn and Toad Tom , giving him a respectable third overall. Toad Tom , who is consistently in the front of the pack, played leap-frog in both motos going 3·2 for a second place. The Novice class shared the track with the In term ed ia tes. Beep Beep Bob went 3· 1 for a first overall. Lots Les, showing more on his new Maico, was second with a 2·3 overall. Dra fty Den nis blew in with a 1·4 for the third place spot. 00 I:' 0') .....-4 I:' Q) l:::: ;::j ~ BROC HAS ALREADY WON THREE CHAMPIONSHIP RACES WITH SUPER SEER XR500 GOGGLES SUPER SEER CORPORATION P.O.
