The Astrodome Sen ior National Mini Champ and " W orld " Stock Mini . Champ went six for six in the 105cc Mini . the Modified 80cc Mini and the Stock Mini classes . leading every lap of the six motos . Only in th e 125cc Intermediate motorcycle class d id he had to come from behind after a sha ky rhird in the first moto, Burnworth traded firsts and thirds with Su zu ki rider Curtis Rough for a tie- breaker second moto victory. Somewhat overlooked in the Burn wort h domination was the steady riding of Rob bie Noli n (Yam). who ~a b bed a strong second in the 105cc Mini class and a close third to Ted Brad y (Yam) in the Stock Mini class. After a two -race absence. Brady cam e back to Barona with seconds in both 80cc Mini classes. The Intermediate classes featured a sweep of the 9-11 Mini classes by Astrodome National Jun ior Mini Champ Ronnie Lechien (Yam) as he blasted Bob Rose (Suz) in the Stock class and new Intermediate rider Troy Hatfield (Suz) in the Modified go. Lechien added a fine fourth placefinish in the I05cc Mini s in a field of 12 "big gu ys." The 12-16 Intermediate action saw a great two-far-two winning efffort b y brand new Intermediate rider Terry Murra y (Su z) in the Modified class and a swee p by SCOlt Swift in the Stock cla ss. Both Swift and Murray are second yea r campaigners. The Novices produced some excellent racing with the outstanding class being th e 12-16 Stock Minis as 20 riders went in both motos and 'Chris Swift (Ya m) took a hard-fought second rnoto ,tie-b r ea ke r win ove r Mark Howell (Suz), Both rid ers had to fight their way through traffi c in each moto, and it was a case of who got (or rna e) the brea ks first.
