Open and 125cc riders combined for the first race . which gave Charlie Welk and Roger Adsit a one-minute win over Jim Ribley and Mike Assof in 12.Iast laps. Ron Kephart and Mike Stearns. bon 250cc hotshoes, traded off on Rons new Suzuki 400 for a shot at the Open class. They led the first six laps. Welk limped in the first lap sizing to tag Adsit . who got after the KephartStearns team before anyone cou ld pass. Welk rejetted the bike then rejoined the chase in fifth . O n the s~v~nth lap Kep h a r t -Stea rns seized. gtvlng Welk-Adsit the le a d. J im Ribley-Mik e Assof were 40 seconds behind starting the eighth lap and finished in about the same position. Brothers Kephart . Steve . 15 a nd David . 13. finished first in th eir classes. 125cc Expert and Novice. both riding solo. Steve notched third overall. Don Seay, J r .-Marty Koenig were the 125cc Amateur winners . In the second go round . th e 250c c riders combined with the Sen iors a nd big-brother Ron Kephart teamed with Mike Stearns. back aboard the faithful 250 tha t led it all the way. Brad Fenton -R om ie Taylor followed in second with Greg Meyers-Ric Secor third . W .C . Thorton-Perry DeP a lm e r finished first Senior and fourth overall. I'fu added event combined the three-wheeler and 100cc and under class for the younger set . Twelve-yearold Dewa yne Palmer of Santa Maria . Amanda ocham, 10. and Mike Kephart , 9 . manda and Mike both broke in the eventh lap with Tammy hanging in here 15 seconds off th e pace on the ig hth time round.
