lost his left footpeg and had to ride out the remainder of the race on his side case, showing the skill that made him a National rider. Wanket was closing fast and took over second. On the white flag lap , Wanket jted by Robertson for the mota win . Ro bertson had the top points total for the overall win , Wanket took second. and th ird went to Klassen . When the 125cc Pros left the gate and hit the first turn . Tim Locey and Jeff Stubblefield went down , watching Bobby Jones take over the lead on a Suzuki. Tim Worth (Suz) was running second with Scott Karl in third and Bill Robertson fourth . Jones started to pull Worth as both of them left the pack way behind. Heavy dicing went on between Karl and Danny Turner. /\t the bottom of the downhill Jones an into trouble with a seized engine and had to pull out of the race. Locey was making up for lost time and had worked his way up into third. T urner, fresh fr om his division win in the Golden State Series. was moving up f ast and took over the lead. hol ding it throughout the mota . Com ing in for the checkered flag were Turner in the lead. Worth second and Locey in third. When the pack set out for the and time, Mike Brown. one of the oungest on the track. pulled a spectacular holeshot and roc keted out in front. H e had Worth in second and a tight battle on his hands trying to hold him back. These two covered much of the first lap side by side. inches apart . A battle for third was taking place with riders hitting the downhill three abreast . . Emerging in third was Danny Thompson. When Turner moved up , the fight for third was heavy. Brown was starting to pull Worth. and when trapped by a lapped rid e r . Worth continued to lose ground . By the time he broke away . Brown was way out in front. As the checkered flag came out Brown took the mota win with Worth holding second and Mike Marquess (Hus) in third . T he overall ride for the class went to Worth. Mike Marquess took second an d third went to Brown . W hen the O pe n class took off. Bob Ma rino led the pa ck. showi ng the style he had at Helvetia. He p ulled Worth (Mai) behind hi m . Worth finally took over a nd Terry Clark came up fast on his Cole Bros. Maico. It was hot and heavy for die first three riders. all within grasp 'of the lead. Clark moved by Marino and was closing rapidly on Worth . The Worth ·Clark duel continued until Worth went down . Clark held the lead down to the wire with Marino in second and Darrell Shultz now up in third. The second time around. Shultz led off the line with Marino close in second and Clark third . Andy Jannings held fourth . Clark took over second as Shultz began to draw a lead for himself. Jannings took over third and held on until Klassen took over. At the halfway mark Shultz was still in command with Clark closing ground . .;( Heading in for the checkered flag . Shultz took the mota win and Cla rk _took second. giving him top money for the class.
