control with Ma rk Sirota right on his tail and Howell holding down th ird. Both Graves and Sirota moved on out and developed their own duel as Richardson pushed and manipulated his way up through the pack and into third. Graves took the overall win , Sirota was second overall and third went to Howell . Bob Kline (Hon·FMF) took home the lion 's share of the 125cc Pro purse after two heavy motos of dicing with Tim Locey (Suz·DG). The first time off the line, Kline took command with Jerry Shore (JD-JD Eng.) in second and Locey running third . For the first part of the moto, Locey had Shore to deal with and Shore was .not ab out to tum over second. All around the course Locey was glued to Shore's fender , finally making his move through the sandwash, then ou t to ca tch Kline , d osing the ga p and burning the rubber off of Kline 's rear tire . Closing in for the kill , Locey finally took over and set up a beautiful lead with Kline strong in second and Shore holding firm in thi rd. The second time off the line, Kline broke wide to the outside in the first tum for the lead with Locey right behind him. Mike Gosselaar (YamVan Nuys Cycle), in one of his first Pro rides , was holding down th ird. Shore was in fourth , badgering Gosselaar at every tum. Kline was just inches ahead of Locey. Gosselaa r now had a string of five .heavy riders behind him and was hanging onto third for dear life. Shore had Paul ,Lane pressing him and both riders collided in the sandwash as Larry Watkins moved on by and set out for Gosselaar. Moving in fast , Watkins was just inches away from ,Gosselaar and his experience won out he took over third. Coming down to the end of the mota Kline lost control of his lead for a split second as Locey ~zoom'ed on by. Kline grabbed it back and was cutting his turns so low to the ~ide he was practically laying his bike down. Coming in for th e checkered flag, the Kline-Locey battle continued with these two just inches apart. Kline held firm , forcing Locey to second with Watkins taking the third overall spot.
