credible tru ck but soon realizes tha t
the four-wheeler simply will no t make
it . He trades the vehicle, alo ng with a
pig , to help cover the cost of a new
Kawasaki (Talk about competitive
pricingl), and all seems to be under
control.
But when-he stops to pick up a-few
poseys for Maybelle, a group of other
potential suitors . . also Kawasaki:
mounted .. blasts past.
He arrives at Maybelle's cabin to
find her smiling and flirting happily
with the group of cyclists that have
her surrounded in the front yard. He
rides up, proudly presents his
. bouquet. and instantly wins her heart .
The final take has them riding into
the sunset together in a scene that will
probably appear blissfully serene. In
actuality, the sunset scene was a
question of survival for the thinly-clad
actor
and
actress.
Particularly
Maybelle.
Bare-footed and dressed in cut-off
Levis
and . a
low-cut
blouse,
Maybelle/Lisa rode through the scene
no fewer than six times. The ternperature on the ridgetop was no higher

While the rest of us hudd led uncornfortably and wished for gloves . warmer
coats a nd long underwear, Lisa
Lawalinand Joe Burke quietly turned
blue without compla int and finished
their job. Think about that when you
see th e cur on TV. It'll become all the
more apparent what a make-believe
world film making is.
" Mou nt ain Love" and the other two
commercials entitled "Streets of
Kawasaki. " a take-off on "T he Streets
of San Franciso" TV show , and "Ven triloquist ," a tale "of talking motorcycles, will be aired fa! the first time
with Superbowl XII (the football
game) coverage.

North Georg ia provided a perfect setting for " Abner's " home (He's standing in the middle of.the photo on the ledge)
and woods roads suitable for a flower girl to set up shop while competitive suitors to ride past " A bner" on their
Kawasakis.
.
Friendly faces were everywhere: Kawasaki Ad Manager Dale Stevenson, actor Joe Burke and actress Lisa Lawalin.
And they lived happily ever after•.. at least that's the appearance given. Actually, they shivered uncontrollably ever after:
