He trades the vehicle, alo ng with a pig , to help cover the cost of a new Kawasaki (Talk about competitive pricingl), and all seems to be under control. But when-he stops to pick up a-few poseys for Maybelle, a group of other potential suitors . . also Kawasaki: mounted .. blasts past. He arrives at Maybelle's cabin to find her smiling and flirting happily with the group of cyclists that have her surrounded in the front yard. He rides up, proudly presents his . bouquet. and instantly wins her heart . The final take has them riding into the sunset together in a scene that will probably appear blissfully serene. In actuality, the sunset scene was a question of survival for the thinly-clad actor and actress. Particularly Maybelle. Bare-footed and dressed in cut-off Levis and . a low-cut blouse, Maybelle/Lisa rode through the scene no fewer than six times. The ternperature on the ridgetop was no higher than forty- five degrees , and there' was a twenty mile per hour wind. That's a chill factor temperature correction . somew here in the sub-freezi ng ra nge. While the rest of us hudd led uncornfortably and wished for gloves . warmer coats a nd long underwear, Lisa Lawalinand Joe Burke quietly turned blue without compla int and finished their job. Think about that when you see th e cur on TV. It'll become all the more apparent what a make-believe world film making is. " Mou nt ain Love" and the other two commercials entitled "Streets of Kawasaki. " a take-off on "T he Streets of San Franciso" TV show , and "Ven triloquist ," a tale "of talking motorcycles, will be aired fa! the first time with Superbowl XII (the football game) coverage. ' • North Georg ia provided a perfect setting for " Abner's " home (He's standing in the middle of.the photo on the ledge) and woods roads suitable for a flower girl to set up shop while competitive suitors to ride past " A bner" on their Kawasakis. . Friendly faces were everywhere: Kawasaki Ad Manager Dale Stevenson, actor Joe Burke and actress Lisa Lawalin. And they lived happily ever after•.. at least that's the appearance given. Actually, they shivered uncontrollably ever after: • . 17 '
