Wright EL PASO, TX, NOV . 6 Scott Logston and Maby Mc Intyre continued their battles at Star Track with very dose racing in all three pro classes. Logston (Yam) proved he is still master of the 125 Pro class as he holeshot both rnotos and won . Mcintyre (Yam) took two seconds as Mitch Moorhead ( Ya m) took two thirds. 250 Pros were the action class of the day. Logston (Yam) took the holeshot with Mcintyre (Yam) on his tail. On the first lap Logston went high in a turn and Mac cut under. The two collided and went down . Mac was up and going right away but Logston was down half a lap trying to straighten out his bike. Bill Luttrell (Yam) held the lead until Dean Ulve (Yam) took over and rode it to the fin ish . Mac worked up to second ahead of Lloyd O lson (Pen) and Logston , who was riding with a broken clutch lever . In the, second moto Logston didn't mess around as he took the holeshot and the win. Ulve , riding 250 for the first time , and Mac had a see-saw battle for second. Mac came out on top . Darkness fell before the last motos were completed. and half the track was raced in the dark. In the first Open Pro moto it was a . two man ra ce between Logston and Mclnryre , the two El Paso Yamaha teammates and track rivals . Logston held the lead until the last lap when his throttle stuck , flying him off the track. He got going to finish second ahead of Mike Satterfield (Pen ). In the second moto McIntyre and Steve LaPointe (Suz) went through the first turn together, but before the first lap was over Logston was second . Logston pushed Mac all the way but couldn't get by. La Pointe finished third overall. In the 125 Novice class Ro b b ie Da vies (Suz) won both motos easily over the six entries. Mi ke Peeb les moved up from 250 Novice t o Amateur and ha d no trou ble win ning. Star Track added an Old Timers class in wit h the 125 Amateur class . R ober t Martin (Yam) won bot h motos of the 125 Amateur , and while lapping O ld Timer Sherman Barnett (owner of Yamaha of El Paso) found Barnett with a full throttle and giving his Yamaha rider a little competition . Barnett and Jim Peebles crashed at the start of the ni ot o and Peebles was unab le to continue. Old Timer Ken J oh nson (CZ) competes each race in the O pen Amateur and consistently pla ces in the top three. Resu lts in Resul ts Section. Jacobson, Gollagoes and Holmes score at $2,000 MX By Ed Hickman BOISE', !D, OCT. 30 A very large crowd of riders from throughout the northwest were on hand for some very exciting racing, as Boise's infamous big downhill was being used . After one restart in the 125 Pro class , Nevada 's Kenny Frost (Suz) grabbed the holeshot , but it was short lived as Gary Racca (Yam) came flying by to take the lead with Pat Jacobson also getting by Frost for second. Racca went down on the approach to the big downhill letting Jacobson claim the lead , Pat never looked back as he wheelied awa y to an easy moto win . Kenny Gollagoes (Suz) also got by Frost forsecond , with Racca remounting for a hard fought , come- from- behind third. The second moto was all Racca's as he stole the ho leshot and went on to an easy moto victory . Jacobson , who looked like he might give Gary a race, crashed on the downhill . With Jacobson out for the moment , Loren Shockey (Suz) grabbed second with Gollagoes in third . Kenny passed Loren for second, out of nowhere came Pat Jacobson WFO past Shockey for third . Pat set his sights on Gollagoes and got by in two laps, but time ran our. Racca had a huge lead that Pat couldn't make up , but the second was good for the overall. The first 250 Pro moto thundered down the start with R ick Gage (Suz) taking the holeshot ahead of Pat Jacobson (Suz) . For the first half of moto one Ga~ and Jacobson diced for the lead until Pa t's Su zuki ca me u p sour, to end his first mot o drive. R ick Holmes took over for Pa t in second with Ken ny Gollagoes claiming third . T hat's the way th e first m ot o ended , with John Spa rks (Suz) ta king fourth. The second moto saw Kenny Gollagoes taking the holeshot to an eas y moto win with Gage and Holmes fighting for second.
