S57 . ~ . 4 Open letter to all 0-37 clubs and riders It is time for the clubs and desert riders of District 37 to ta ke a good long look at themselves. How many clubs would like to throw a race without ever having the services of Rescue 3 or how many riders would like to race without having Rescue 3 in attendance? It may come to that sooner than you think . There have been several clubs this year that . have requested the services of Rescu e 3 at their desert races or at their grands prix. After the event is all over. the club doesn't bother giving a donation to Rescue 3. Who , then . is to pay for the bandages, etc. that were used during the race? Surely we don't expect the members of Rescue 3 to donate these things. They already donated their time, their own vehicles (including repairs and gas), as well as many dollars in personal equipment and many hours in special training. The desert riders deserve the best in first aid coverage and that's Rescu e 3 . So . if you belong to one of these guilty clubs, how about getting the records squared away? Rescue 3 is unique. They developed with the support of District 37 while giving a needed service to the desert riders. Let's not also be the ca use of their downfall. J OYCE MAY Barstow. CA Thanks Gang Accounting Mike Klingt'r. During the Desert Bums Cathouse hare 'nhoun d race, there was a screw up in the course sweeping. After 10 hours in the desert , it was a beautiful sight to see his wife in a 4 -W / D to get us out. Many thanks to jim Hershman and crew . DOUG WILCOX Weazel R acing Team Palo Alto .
