Kline jumped off the line at the start of the first mota • ..b, building a nice lead. He had John O'Mara (Suz ·AI Baker) in second . • U Kirk Sturgeon running third and Jerry ~ Shore fourth . A tight battle for sixth was taking place among Bob Ramsey, Paul Lane, and Joe Root. Jim Tassano in fifth was keeping an uneasy .e ye on ~~ the three. After the white flag, Kline I held a beautiful lead over O'Mara, with Sturgeon following . Second time off the line O'Mara led ~d the pack with Kline in second, Shore third and Sturgeon fourth . There was a tight race between Kline and O'Mara, neck arid neck from the first ~. turn on . Kline, switching lines, finall y I. got by and began to open up a lead. ! Sturgeon was closing on Shore as they rr came side by side for the checkered m il flag . Kline scooted across to the overall )',win . O'Mara took second and Shore held third. It was Will Harper's night for the 500 Pros. In the first moto, he led the pack off the line with Kurt Bledsoe (Yam-B&D) in hot pursuit. Dean ' T aylor was third with Andy Jannings right on his ta il. Dave Haugh was closing in fifth . T aylor and Jannings fought for third down to the wire with Taylor holding his ground . The second time around. Harper again took control. Bledsoe and 11. Jannings were ru n ning second and , third. Bledsoe began closing the gap ;J. on Harper as a battle between Taylor and Haugh developed . j annings , hounding Bledsoe was just barely held bn off.
