In addition to money, there were plenty of tee shirts and lots of oil given to the winners in each class. For the remainder of the year DuraLube will be at the CMC races. . Cliff Lett (FMF) started the action in the 125 Pros with Jeff "Flying Freckle" Ward (FMF) inches behind him. Mike Brown (Suz) , Gregg Toyama (FMF) and the brothers Wanket , Peter and Tony (Yams) filling the next slots. Ward had the lead by the end of the first lap and by the close of the moto had an unbeatable lead on the other riders. Lett rode a very strong second for the duration of the race with Peter Wanket bumping Brown. On the seventh lap Toyama moved into' fourth with TonyWanket taking over fifth . " . " When the gate dropped for the second moto Randy H ess (FMF) rocketed up the long grinding start hill and smoked around Webco with a pack of wide open riders in pursuit. Hess had the race in his pocket when he slid out and lost the lead. Tony Wanket took over as parade master . Toyama kept his brand new box stock Suzuk i right on Wanket's fender. Lett and Ward followed , sta ying ahead of Hess and Terry Shekell (Yam). On th e last lap, Lett dumped his mount and Ward and Hess advanced in the line up . With the points tallied Jeff Ward got the overall. Bob Elliott (Suz) ripped off the gate and managed to sta y ahead of T im Lunde (T &O Yam) for th e first lap but then it was totally Lunde's race. Jim Domann, riding for DG , locked himself into the third slot. Peter Wanket managed to keep his Yamaha ahead of his brother Tony's machine until a classic endo put him out for the day and Tony grabbed fourth . The second time around Elliott again got the holeshot with Wanket and Lunde inches behind. Domann, Cole Bros. Maico-riding Wes Sutton, . and Alan Smith (Hus) W next. For Ire seven laps Elliott was the leader but Lunde was determined to capture the lead.
