The 1977 ISDT will be held in the Povaska Bystrica district of Czechoslovakia beginning Sep tember 5 a nd ru nning through Septem ber 10, The 37 .America n riders selected to compete will represent one of the largest contingents in the trial, which will have a total of 320 starters from an estimated 20 nations. American team efforts will include the previously announced World Trophy Team fielded by Penton Imports and ,the Silver Vase Team of Yamaha Motors USA, Additionally. the U.S . will field seven three-man manufacturer teams and five three-m an club teams in the famed amateur event. "We have a total of 23 Six Days veterans and 14 first-year men on what I consider a solid team," said Al Eames, American Motorcyclist Assn. (AMA) manager of amateur activities. "I think we can look for some outstanding individual acc omplishments and also feel that a nu mber of our team ' entries have excellent chances of being in contending positions."
