Brad was second, 13 seconds behind. and Gerrit had slacked off the pace at the end finishing 21 seconds after Brad. Mikkola continues to pull away from DeCoster in the title chase. Mikkola has been taking the starts - with ease . pulling way ahead in the first two laps and then cruising effortlessly to the. finish unchallenged in almost every race. Heikki's record in the standings now stands at five wins. one second to -Brad. and a third and fifth in Austria. He has won the last three races from start to finish , and his Heikki Penttila-tuned YZM Yamaha b has been ultra-reliable in every race so far. l!' Roger now has one win which came a;, in the very first race of the season in Austria which was followed by a string of five third places. In Finland. he fell behind with only 14 points collected for his fourth and fifth place finishes . Heikki now leads Roger by 24 points, and with Mikkola going the way he is. it is going to be quite a battle for Roger to pull even on points. let alone ~. take the lead. There are still 16 more races to go and anything can happen. . ~ Gerrit Wols ink is still holding down ~fthi rd spot and is only five points away from taking second place away from his teammate Roger . Gerrit now has one win, three seconds. one third a rfifth a seventh and an eighth. .n Brad Lackey has strengthened his v-' fourt h place even though he remains " behind Gerrit with the same amount n 'Of points by virtue of their identical scores in Finland. Brad has moved ahead of Graham Noyce by a margin ~J of 29 points as Graham has failed to finish ' in the last three races and only scored one point in the first race in Sweden. Brad has a win in Sweden. two seconds. one third. one fourth and a seventh place in the second race in Austria. He has only been out of the Ii point twice with a 12th place in the first race in Austria and ' a/ DNF as a result of a thrown chain in Sweden in the second race . • • ~ 11II . .
