The reigning "Weltm ei ster" wa s Vikt or A rb ekov (Cl ) of R ussia and th e winner-to-be for th at year was T o rste n H allman ( H usq va rn a) of Swed en. Robert won his fir st title in 1964 but it would be 1968 before he would r egain th e ch ampionship , a n d the re a fter win it each year up to 1972 .
