"+ '" to be reckoned with was the white blur of Richee Collins (KTM), who shot into an early lead while hot in pursuit were determined Doug Sherman (Mai) and Val Tamietti (Mai). Because of his early lead, Collins could not be touched by either one of these seasoned veterans and ended up taking a safe and distant first. Second went to Tamietti after finally being able to out-maneuver Sherman . Moto two saw Roben Marino (Yam) fly into a quick lead only to have his bike break on the seventh lap and end , his day of racing. In the meantime Tarnietti took advantage of Marino's bad luck and assumed the first place position for the remainder of the race while a hard charging Craig Adams (KTM) forced himself into second place spot over a once again thi rd place Sherman with Collins finishing u p fou rt h . T am iett i ended up with the oyerall win with Collins hol d ing down second, thi rd going to Ad ams, and fourth being sewn up by Sherman . , In t he 250 Pro race it was Kev!n J~odgers (KTM) who succeeded In taking first overall for the d ay but not before having to fight his way through the masses an d then ho lding off the likes of Tim Welker (RM B)"who had to be content with second overall, Jonas Gaaf (Yam), a close third , and Steve Ru ssell (Mai), fou rt h place. • Results in Results Section. The d uel lasted about five exciting laps , but came to a disappointing clim ax when McDougal's transmission wasted itself. This gave McGowen an easy path to victory. In the next moto , it was La Tendresse who made his bid for the number one spot. He got the holeshot and kept it for four laps , holding off a hard charging McGowen all the way. On the fifth la p , however, McGowen saw an opening and put it to use.
