Within a couple of laps Ducker was right on top of Taylor trying to get around . Ducker would gain on T aylor going into the corners but Taylor would sh ut off earlier. forcing Du cker to take the not-so-hot lines in the mud. Taylor eventually stretched out a small lead and held it to the finish. Ducker came across second wit h Hilsizer third and Sendlebach fourth. Another Lancaster Yamaha rider George Faber, got the second moto sta rt with Taylor holding down second in front of Harry Coffield (Yam) and Ducker. Within the first lap Taylor passed Faber for the lead whi le Ducker passed Coffield . Ducker started . gassing it , passed Faber and set out after Taylor, but in doing so cut the track and was disqualified. Taylor co llected the first in the moto and the overall win whi le Hu lsizer go t second ahead of third overall Sendleba ch . Keith Me rt z (Ma i) had an easy tim e in th e Open Pro class. He go t the start in bot h motos a nd went on to two convincing m ot o wins over Ji m Keller (Suz), an d Palmdale HarleyDavidson rider Don Bevans (Ma i). Cra ig Osborn sho wed th e rest of the 250 Pros ho w to gas it around th e track the fast est. He was up front in both moto starts and just stretched his lead out. T erry Statum and Da ve Luja n had one hec k of a go in t he Money hal f m ile a nd add one Devon Sowell just to spice things up a b it more. On the sixth la p th ings started to ha ppen as Luja n got a wheel u nde r St atum to take th e lead away. Lujan liked that nu m ber one spo t so he came back agai n and pu t a move on t atum
