MAR. 6 The AMC. $1000 purse motocross at Carlsbad provided some super hot racing and Mike Bell had the best time, winning both the 250 and Open Pro cla sses. while Broc Glover enjoyed himse lf 'a s well . winning the 125 Pro di vision. _ The 125 Pro s sta rted the day's first rnoto with Team Yamaha's Broc Glover finish ing first . while Brian Myerscough (Suz) cam e in second. Pet e W anket (Yam) rode sm oothly int o th ird place. Warr en Reid (H on) and FMFs Radical Ron T urner were smoking bu t crashed in a' heap Turner DNFd while Reid went on to fin ish fifth . . In the second mota. Glover got the ho leshor. Randy Hess (H on) held down second until .Reid zipped by. closing on Glover but time ran out and he had to settle for second. Hess fini shed third with a third overall for the day. • Then came Bells' turn as the 250 Pros began. Radical Ron Turner put on a show by taking the holeshot , Val Tamietti (Mai) took over and started to run away, John Smith (Yam) took Tarriietti, while Bell (Yam) started his move, getting by them both to win , Smith sneaked by Tarnierti for second. In the second mota. Bell got the holeshor and had Sm ith hot on his tail most of the , race, at times almost getting by, bu t he never made it .
