moto ,
taking
the overa ll in the Open Experts at
today's jam-packed CRC motocross. A
fall in the second moto foiled Aircone
rider R oger Bartling's (Suz) chances
for a big win in the 250 Intermediates
which went to John Criswell (Su z} of
Tea m Junk; while the brothers
Whiting - A .j. and Matt - d iced
it out betwee n t hemselves to d ivvy up
the top two spots in the Mini Experts.
Bogane didn 't start off on the right
foot in the first moto . He got off the
line in about second place, and when
he was ready to make his move into the
first tum, Co rey ran ou t of room a nd
into the weeds which put him dead
last. Tom Mayfield (Mai) went on to
win it, and by the end of the moto,
Bogane had worked himself up into
third place.
The tables were switched in the
second moto as Mayfield became a
victim of traffic problems and Bogane
grabbed the lead. Mike Norris (Suz)
was right behind Bogane all the way in
that round to wrap up second overall
behind Corey. Mayfield worked his
way up from his bad start to take
third.
R. Mike Brown (Mai) grabbed the
lead in the first 250 Intermediate moto
while eventual moto win ner Roger
Ba rtlin g was ha ngi ng in there in a
steady second place. For a long while,
it looked as if Bro wn might have it in
the bag since Ba rtl ing ha d tried almost
every trick in the book to get around
him. To com plicate thi ngs even more,
Brown 'was begi nning to slow down
just enough to make th in gs frustrating
for Bartling: Just before the wh ite flag
came ou t , Ro ger finally got past
Brown to lead on for the win .
Bartling's stu nning first moto win
was washed down t he d ra in in round
two when Roger fell a nd wound up
finishing in tenth place with the win
goi ng to J erry J effery (H on). Roger
rebounded in the final to win it again,
