Myerscough held on to second wh ile Tony Wanket (H o n), David Williams (Su z) and Honda m ounted T im Lunde rounded out th e top five positions. . W rig ht quickly fell be hind both Ogden and Mosier. who went on to a full-mote battle with Turner. Ro n held down the lea d u ntil a slight mistake two laps from the end allowed bo th Ogden and Mosier to pass. Ogden held off an intense lastm in u te ch arge from Mosier to ta ke the first . moto wi n . Mosier , T urner , Wright and Marty Moa tes ( KT M) finished next . T u rner again jumped out a head in the second moto but his lead only la st ed fo r m om ents before Mosier flashed b y. 'R ichee Co lli ns was pressu r in g R ich T horwa lds o n and Ogden for third until both Co llins a nd Thorwa ld son pulled out wit h bike problems. As th e moto en ded, Mosier was way o ut in the lead with Turner second ' a nd Ogden third . Marty Moates fi nis h ed fourth but wa s penalized one lap afte r cutting off ha lf of the first lap wh en he missed the start due to last-minute chain prob lems . So R obert Morino wound u p fourth , while Jimmy Wright fini shed fifth . T urner, third in th e O pen class, won the 250 P ro race as well. Greg Robertson (Oss) ran seco nd behind Turner all day, while DC's Mike Bell and J ohn Smith (Suz) battled for the third spo t. with Bell taki ng it. • esults in Resul ts Sect ion. In the firs t moto , Mosier ca me up a nd pa ssed Ogden fo r th e lead and the win . After Ogden came Val Tamieui (Mai) and Mi ke Yorba (Suz). a pair _who had been bauling heavi ly through the moto . Mosier led t he second mot o from the sta rt and fin ished with a perfect score. Ogden and Tarnietti completed the tep three overall. Ron Turner (FMF) won the 250 Pr o class in similar fashion - a two-more sweep. with crowd -pleasing cross ups and styling along th e way. In th e first ba ttl e . TidWell three times at Corona By Elaine Jones CORONA , CA L .. J AN . 12 Mike T idwell collected three firsts and one second for the evening, Both the 250cc TT and half-mile fell to Mike, who led both fro m start to fin ish. Dylan Neihart was the only one who could stay close , while everyone else dropped out or back with attrition problems. Tidwell won the Money TT in the same fa shion. Tidwell's stre ak was broken in the 20 ·)ap Money race where he ran into Eddie Lawson. Mark Butler , who moved into the O p en class , won both the TT and Half-M ile Open Com bi ned r aces . Bu tler diced with John Mathe rson and Robert Pfetzing in the TT and J ohn Gimenez and Denny Aguirre in the Half-Mile , Pfetzing repeated hi s dou ble win in the 125 Combined TT and Half-Mile. The 250 Amateurs fi nally got en ou g h rid ers for sep a ra te classes.
