This is the o pport u ne time in which to perform a bit of intellig ent port work. First , do not alter the transfe r ports or th e inher ent angles. Changi ng this may result in a det eri oration of th e loop scaveng ing effect. The exha ust port · should be raised to 1.55 " from TD€~ and the co rners squared . The transfe r rises should be knife-e dged, but do not cu t th e divider s ba ck . The intake tract sho u ld be lowered to 4 .4 8" below 1 DC, and a si x- pe t a l YZ reed assem b ly installe d. The greater wid th of th e YZ re ed cage requires some increas e in intak e tract wid th . The installa tion of a 36 mm Mikuni will com plimen t th e ' modific a tions, a nd th e O EM (stoc k) jett ing is a good sta rti ng point.
