Eddie Lawson, Eddie San Roman, Jim
Wright , Wayne Rainey, and Mike
Tidwell just to mention a few were all
ready to get "it on iri the fifteen lap
main. When the flag fell it was Rainey
off on top with Wright , Lawson and
Tidwell in hot pursuit. They started
changing partners on lap two when
Lawson moved by Wright. On three
Tidwell also put the move on Wright
dropping him to fourth . Meanwhile
up front Rainey was holding off a
strong
challenge
by
Lawson .
Everybody was status .q uo until lap
seven when Wright got by Tidwell to
move back into the number, three spot.
On lap ten things' start to happen.
Lawson got by Rainey. Dave Peters
and Terry Statum went out 'with bike
problems. Wright went down coming
out of turn four . Stan Kinsey moved
quickly into the third spot with Jim
Crowley behind him. Unlucky lap
thirteen claims Mike Tidwell and he
limps into . the pits with a possible
seizure. Don Tortorelli falls by the
< wayside on fourteen and as the
checkered flag came out the survivors
were Eddie Lawson first, Wayne
Rainey second, Stan Kinsey third and .
Dylan Neihart fourth . Eddie also
added the Open Expert Half Mile with
a wire to wire victory in that one.
