In the 125 Beginner department of the combined screamer field, Gilbert Cam erena (Han) lucked o ut to be the overall high point rider of the series as he posted a 1-3-1 win over Don Billings (Yam) and brother Tony Camerena (Han) . Up towards the front of the pack, Scott Fulton managed to hold off the only Expert and Intermediate riders Cris Cayo (Suz) and Bryan Jones (Hon). In the first mota, Cris led almost all t he way, but Scott got by t o take the flag. In the following two motos, Scott just up and ran away fro m everybody, leaving the big boys to eat h is du st . No t b ad for a Novice, huh? Mark Brooks had it eas y in his combined big bore class , as he roosted to ten and fifteen second leads in the first two mots. In the last one however, iiida D .....IiI ·...... (DMG) put a bite onto Brooks' rear fender and never let go . A last moto win by Danday would've blown Brooks ' easy da y of racing, but the B & M sponsored rider prevailed to make it a clean sweep. 250 Intermediate Jim Criswell (TJ) came in third. • Results in Results Section. Glover, Moates smoke Saddleback Saturday By Danny Raymond IRVINE , CAL., ocr. 23 Factory Yamaha's Broc Glover made a return visit to Saturday's races and went home in to hon ors after taking wins in both motos of the 125 Por class . Bro c had little trouble w ith the first moto once . he worked his wa y around D & G 's Gary Denton . But it was a di fferent st ory for the second moto, The trouble came from Su zuki's Bob Elliott. who quickly took over from Broc arid went ahead to a short lead. Glover was slowly reeling in Elliott ne ar th e ending of the race and made his successful move fo r the lea d o n th e fin al lap. T o ny Wanket rode in beh ind Glo ver and Elliott to finish third on his san o Miller-Man e Honda. _ Mid- Valley sent ou t another one of their trick Ossa 's to Saddleback , this time Marty Mo ates was in th e sad dle and went on to smoke th e 25 0 Pro d ivisio n wit hout much tr ouble at all. J eff Vid ic final ly go t h is Sweet Duck ' Su zuki prepared RM 25 0 to stay underneath . h im sel f and went on to se cond p lace with great ease ove r Steve Montaque (Suz) third and fourth going _ to Andy Kirker aboard a Husky.
