The expensive Koni GP shocks obviously won't be o n an y producti on bike, but Betor is probably hard a t work righ t now on a new rear shock to allow the ne cessary II in ches of , rear wheel travel. Chassis wise. the fr ame is the sam e as the present producti on motocrossers, wi th th e excep t io n th at the 1977 models will ge t an alum inum box section sw ingarm sim ilar to Bimbo's. And lik e Bimbo 's bike. Sun rims may be used on th e new 1977 model Bultacos. The 370cc engine in th e T ran s-AMA racer is stock be tween the cases, bu i the top end has be en extensively reworked as far as porting and the addition of a reed value. Just from watching Jimmy ride the bike we'd have to say it has one of the strongest and most responsive engines in th e Open class with more usable power than an yon e else. Every time Jimmy got on th e gas, even in first gear, th e power would slingshot him instantly lorward rath er than break
