Doug Chandler of Salinas and Rick DeLacy of Vallejo scooted to premier spots in the SO and 360 Expert ranks while Turlock 's Jeff Mason ripped off the Mini 100 top spot. J orgy's two wins at Lodi coupled wi th an even t-shortened third at Oakdale and a slippery fourth Monday plus two thirds in the match races rate him "Outstanding Rider" honors for the weekend as well as high pain t in the 250 ranks. There were few hassles, excellent race tracks, dazzling racing, and an easy relaxing atmosphere in evidence at each event. With Blose holding the lead, action centered on the scrap for second as Utah ace John Greenway (Han) moved up into contention. Greenway wicked up and set after the streaking Blose as Bartley and Darling could not match the pace. Local riders Al Hall (Hon) and Chalma Roberts moved up from their poor starts with Hall en ding in th ird. Blose too k the rnoto win with a su per ride followed by the closing Greenway. Fourth place finisher in the first moto, Jay Rice, led the early portion of rou nd two for the 125 class . Chalma Roberts finally got cooking and was in second followed by the always present Steve Bartley, Butch Darling and AI Hall. Chappy Blose, winner of round one had gotten a poor start and soon gassed it past the backmarkers into sixth. Roberts. intent on showing the home folks how to win, rode arou nd R ice for the lead a few laps into the race, Ro berts was never headed as he gassed it past thc chec kers for the mota win. A l Hall down fro m Truckee, finished the race in second which gave th e young rid er t he overall fo r the day.
