Bryan wo rked his way back to within striking di sta nce. but ti me ran out on his charge. Tom Taylor was first Intermediate and Guy Campbell first Novice. The second race featured "very virile Vets" Dennis Ro senb erg an d Do n Curtis swapping the lead back and forth through the entire race. Curtis took the win b y holding off Rosenberg on the last lap . First Novice was Dan Delehant, Marty Miller outdistanced the rest of the field in the 125 race o nJohn Gless' roo Honda. He was first 125 Expert an d first overall in this the t hird race. Eric Coffin was first Intermediate, and Henry Villoch first Novice. Goat Breker held off Larry Bird an d Wayne Martin to win the 250 Expert class. Jim Garton was first Interm ed iate. Rusty Clar ke was first 250 Novice o n a 175 Os sa. 'Bo b by Hart, on that super fast Mille r Man o YZ80, held off everyone fo r a co up le of lap s, until J ohn Gl ess go t by o n h is new 10 0 Suz uki. J o hn took the win in the 100 Expert class and Bobby, who was second overall. the win in the Mini Expert class. Bart Onasch was first 100 Novice. Louise White, riding a KTM, was ab le to hold off Jill Mcilrath o n her Honda for the win in the Girl's division. Jeff Sweet, back after a year's absence with a broken leg, was the winner in the 100 Beginner class. The Brekers did it to everyone in the team race, winning with over three minutes to spare on Goat's 250 Kawasaki. Due to the large turnout of team entries. the rest of the results have not been co mputed as yet. Team Manager . Tom Cullen at Elsinore TT By And i Gangewer ELSINORE, CAL., AUG. 28 A lo t was hap pe ning Saturday nigh t at Elsinore. We had everything from soup to nu ts, but with 116 ri ders, w hat can you expect? A big Van club, "Have Van's Will Travel", was out and eight •brave so uls got together to fo rm a Van Club race. Everyone had a good time, and Greg Heistand, a regular at the track; showed his buddies how it's done. Greg went o n to take wins in the final two motos and after the last race of the evening both Greg Heistand and Jim Wilson were present to pick up their trophies, There were also four three wheelers that got together for a crazy class. Gary Dhenin chalked up two wins and a third. which earned him enough points for the trophy. John DeCuis was the number two man. really had . The Open Experts themselves a ' time. Gary Smith. Rex Hailey, and Vince Landry were practically the whole race. Moto one Rex shot out front to the head of the class, Gary chased Hailey's 500 Yamaha with one of his own but Vi nce Landry was on Smith's back the whole race givi ng Gary no relief. They finished in that order, way ahead of the other riders. The second moto was a r eplay of t he first except for t he last two p ositions. Rex got a terrible start in moto three, giving Gary the edge he needed to take control. Gary o pened up a big lead right off t he b at b ut Rex b egan to creep clo ser. T he che ckered fell before Hailey could get a run at Smith, but Rex had earned enough po in ts to get the win. Smith was second, and Vince was t hird overall. The Cannon brothers again both pulled off wins in the Mini Amateur/Expert and Mi ni Beginner/Novice classes.
