S8 .00 th e reservoir body for refilling the sh ock with oil. II. The shocks will now be filled with oil. Use the thinnest good quality sh oc k oil p ossibl e. In m ost instances this is 5 weigh t oil, or if avail able, Bel-Ray 45 hydraulic oil. 12. First install the inner steel tube in th e inthe shock and fill it with oil: 13. Par tially install th e dampening rod assembly in the steel inner tube and begin filling the remainder of the shock body with oil. The sh oc k body should be positioned in a vice or held by hand so that th e oil w ill drain out th e bleed hole in th e reservoir body at th e same : time it overfill s the top of the shoc k body . 14. Screw in th e bleed screw and tigh ten do wn the dampening rod assembly in to th e sh ock body with th e dampening ro d full y ex ten de d. As th e dampening assem bly cap is tigh tened down in to th e sh ock body , oil will b e displaced and seep o u t at th e threads. This is h ow i t sho u ld be done . The object is to have no air mixed with th e oil in side th e sh ock. 15. Ch eck to see that shock body top, reservoir top and bleed screws are tigh t, then fill the gas portion of the reservoir with air or nitrogen .a t 29 .4 lbs .. or 2 kg/cm2 . Because dampening in the series no. 4 Marzocchi shocks is extremely firm for L'! J..... suspensio n , p ressure in th e gas ch a m ber o f the shock isn ' t st ro ng enough to push ba ck out the dam p en ing r od when the shock is co mp ressed .
