Sauer to o k ove r the lead in th e fourth lap, T u rne r moved in to second on th e fifth lap and th e race was on. It was wheel to wh eel combat until the tenth lap when Turn er triumphed. Sauer was inv olved in ye t another duel in the Semi Pro event, this time wi th Jim Hubbard [Y am]. Nipping away a t Hubbard's le ad Sauer was unable to sneak by and on ce again had to settle for second. . , It was an entire ly different story in the 80 mini handicap. Mike Cagl e (Yam) made it look easy . Getting an e ar ly le ad , he won the eve nt by ha lf a lap. With this win Cagle will be riding u nd e r a five yard h and icap. Doug Dorman (Yam) ridin g under a 60 yard handicap, worked ·his w ay up to second. The week before Dorman earned the highly esteemed title of " Sc ratc h m an " by winning the 80ce Handicap from the 60 yard lin e.
