Sweet and sassy but fast!

Today was a first for Cl\IC. 12
Professional women racers and
seven sportspersons showed up to
do battle. They all went off the
16
line together and Flyin' Sue Fish flashed
out in front of the pack to stay. While
watching Sue explode over the jumps,
one 500 Pro rider exclaimed to his
buddy, ''Jeeze, some of these women go
as fast as us." Johanna Stenerson (Ho n)
was really freigh tn' it when she crashed
and got off hard. Remounting her
Honda, Johanna got going again but
after the moto it was rumored she had
broken a ,rib and he r leg was badly
injured.
In t he second moto Stenerson got the
holeshot with JoAnn Miley (Hon)
smokin ' be hind and Sue Fish righ t after
her. At the top of the h ill, in fro nt of
th e Webco tower, Sue got o ut of shape
and went down, leaving her next to last.
JoAnn charged on Stenerson and was
about to pi ck up the lead but she went
hard over a jump. lIer front forks
compressed and stayed that way.
Barbara Spielman advanced to second
and started closing on Stenerson, who in
' sp ite of her injuries was looking
