It hasn't been an easy road from be ing the oldest USAF dependent in the
European Theatre to where he is now . His name is Lane Campbell and he is
Senior Ed ito r at Cycle News. Since coming to work in scenic Signal Hill, he
spends all his time trying to get awav , covering races, politicking, testing bike
and evaluating hospital food .
He does it because he's allergic to smog and wall-to-wall people, but he also does it so
that Cycle News can make you aware of what's shaking in the fast-paced world of
motorcycling - not only who won last week but who helped the sport survive another
week in a hostile environment. He's out there somewhere now, with five other full-time
editors, facing the elements with nothing more than ' a bike, a sleeping bag, and an
unlimited expense account.
Now the Lame Camel is 35, he just bought another motorcycle - and his wife threw
