May 30, 1976. Don Sanford wins
Greenhorn Enduro in California on a
Honda MR-25O.
This year's National Championship
Greenhorn Enduro had a slightly
different format, It was spread over
two days, Saturday and Sunday, with
a portion of the 500-mile course
ridden at night. That made a tough
race all that tougher, great pit crews
and great riding all the more vital.
Don Sanford, riding a Honda
MR-250, took overall honors with an
unheard-of perfect score. And Tom
King, riding another MR-250, took
first in the amateur class. Neither
MR's were super-trick. Only slightly
modified. A button-down day for
Honda on the hot California desert.

May 31, 1976. Mali( Eggar wins
250 National Trials event in
Kansas City on a Honda Rn·25O.
It wasn't exactly your ideal day for
trials riding. Rain the day before
turned the course to mud. With the
rocks taking on a grease-like surface.
And in a large field, the competition
was especially close throughout the
entire event. But at the end of the
demanding day, Mark Eggar finished
first with a low score of 36 points.

June 6, 1976. Pierre Karsmakers
wins 250 National in Southwick,
Massachusetts on a Honda Rc.2
Literally just off the plane from
the European racing circuit, Team
Honda's Pierre Karsmakers hopped
on his brand new RC~250 works bik
and blew off all competition at the
final AMA 250 National MX series
. It was a perfect 1-1 victory. It was
Pierre's first run on the national
250cc MX circuit this year-and th
first time out for the new bike. Chal
up another victory for Honda. .
