At the halfway point Anderson (Mo n ) retired with a broken rear hub and the standings were Pomeroy , ' Han se n, Moiseev, Kavinov and Everts (Puc) . With two laps to ' go Moiseev slipped past Hansen to secure second and J Everts who had come from 16th place to fifth crashed. The moto ended with Jim Pomeroy first , ~ seev second. oi The secoDd moto opened to a track as" hard as stone with Thorlief Hansen grabbing the holeshot followed by lGivinov, Mikkola, Pean and Pomeroy. For five laps th e leaderboard remained unchanged and then on the sixth lap Pomeroy passed Pean (Mai) and . Anderso n moved into fourth place. At thi halfway point Everts crashed out of con ten tion and Mikkola put on a drive tliilt sent him past Kavinov and Hansen.
