Spencer the heavy watering of the track which took place just before. Each of the 20 entrants had two eggs (y es, raw} , taped to the seat of his bike. The object was to be first to finish a mota with eggs intact, and on the super slippery track, bikes sliding sideways and going out of control there were quite a number of slippery seats. The bi g winner was Magoo , who n ever sits down an yway ! The down to business ra cing in the 125 Expert class also saw Magoo (Dan Ch andler) winning both motos. He led every lap, but Don Cantaloupi (Nag) was becoming somewhat qf a threat in the first mota before his hub broke with three laps to go. He did however finish the race, in third place with Eric McKenna (Han) taking se cond. In the second mota , Magoo again led every lap , with Renn y Bruns (Su z) and McKenna di cing for second. Bruns didn't make the finish, and again McKenna cashed in Magoo also won the first round of the 250 class after taking over the lead from Larry Rippenkroeger (Kaw). ~cKenna, on a Husky fo r this one, took after Rippenkroeger, who held h im off until the end of the last lap when McKenna dove' under for a . second. The se cond mota, Rippenkroeger again got the hole shot, and again was overtaken by Magoo. This time he regained the lead when Magoo crashed, go ing back to last place, but it didn 't last . Both Mains went 15 laps and were tremendous races . In the 250 Rusty Davis led most of the time but in a furious battle with Mike and Kevin French. Faria took the chec ke red but it was a bittersweet win , as Davi s had defeated Faria in ' a special Ken yon-sponsored match ra ce earlier., Brother Dave had his hands full with Chuck Miller but pulled out all stops to take his win , as Errol Longboya took third on a 350 XL. The special m atch is a series of 15 events pitting 16 riders in b rackets, two at a time', in quest of $500 for the winner. Dav is and Faria co u ld n' t have been a better match for the first n ight. Mike and Ru sty had a tooth and nail banger for five laps. Next week, Chris Paulson will take on Rick Delacy, if Rick can ride. During the 250 Main, Rick collided with Scott Fleshman and Manual Datan, su fferin g extensive bruises in the lower back. Nothing broken but hurt city. Enough 250 Novices were on hand to m ake for two divisions and Steve Dart took the "A" over Keith Pechar (who now makes the Junior ranks) while Ro cky the Flying Squirrel Robinson took the "B " over Jeff Atkins an d J ay Ralston. Ken Robicheaux would appear to be the new hot a nd co ming Junior, taking th e 250 Junior win and a third 125 in very spirited competition.
