· I Gold Medal: Sha_rock's .r ~ ., 2. . ISM _ Qualifier. It all started the weekend of March 27th"and 28th at the Shamrock Motorcycle Club's twoday ISDT Qualifier at Cal City. Larry Langley rode his virtually stock-except for shocks and ex- haust -MR-250 through the rugged -350 -mile torture test to capture a gold medal in the 250 class. To give you an idea how tough it was, there were only 84 finishers out of all toe 300 starters! The MR·250 handled the race the way you'd expect a Honda to handle it-no complaints, just performance. Langley then took the bike home for a week of R & R. Changed the air filter and spark and sent it back into action the next weekend with his riding partner, Terry Swets. First i Class: Tecate 500. The event was the Tecate 500just a 420-mile weekend's ride through some of Baja's scenic countryside. Especially scenic if you like rocks, sand and brokendown motorcycles. By now,the MR·250 was getting warmed up. After the dust cleared on Sunday, Swets and the reliable MR rode away with #1 in its class. Now, the MR-250 looks like any person would look after two rough weekends and 870 miles of constant beating, but it still runs beautifully and has some nice decorations to show for its endurance. And that's what it's all about - endurance. The MR-250 is at your Honda dealer's now. It's the two-stroke built with the same dependability that has made the Honda fourstroke famous . Take it out this weekend for a ride. :H:ON"DA. F' I'St. For good reason. 1 9
