Saturday appeared to be another banner day for the Pritchett family, with Darren taking the flag rust in the 0-200 Beginner race and his dad Willis doing likewise to the 250/Open Beginners. When the computer figured the elapsed time, however, Mark Round (125 Hon) slipped in front ofDarren for the 0-200 win . Lizzie Broussard (who along with PP Novice winner Michelle Griffin and Morgan Malocco, graced the eN cover two issues ago) won the Beginner Powder Puff class, riding a strong race despite having her wrist in a cast. Laura Lockridge finished second in her rust race. Kelly Kline (Yarn) beat a large contingent of Minis. While the local merchants enjoyed the . large crowd, the large crowd enjoyed the sunny weekend in unaccustomed comfort. That included watching Winona Richardson belly dance with the donations going to the Legal Defense Fund. Four dollars from every entry plus ten percent of the winnings also went to the Fund. The 20-mile course. was largely fireroad, with some gnarly trails tossed in for blisters, and a healthy dose of pavement tossed in for fun. • Even the hackers find their place in the sun at Cal City GP.
