underway tonight at Ross Downs,

wins in 65 and 85cc action, fo llowed by
another double win by Lubbock's Don
"Bubba" Sh obert, who aced the 125 on
a Kaw asaki and the 250 on a Bul Astra.
In the 360 Main , Bill Orr drove his
Honda thumper by Phil McCasland on
the last lap for first place gold .
The
Ross
Downs
facility
is
considerably improved from last year,
and now sports plyboard fencing nearly
all around, plus a new oil-clay surface
on the banked quarter mile oval. This
year, both Ross Downs an d Buffalo
Park Speedway are sanctioning all races
the
with
AMA,
deviating from
"Semi-Pro." programs of last year. That
is, . all races will be - purely Amateur
(trophies only) except for one " Class C"
or all-pro event at each track per month.
